The Library holds over 24,000 resources, both paper and electronic, to support the educational and recreational needs of the students at St Nicholas Catholic High School. These include:
- Fiction: The pupils are involved in the stock selection which ensures the purchase of up-to-date fiction to promote reading for pleasure to all levels of reading interest and ability.
- Non-Fiction: a comprehensive collection of Non-Fiction to support all areas of the curriculum and any extra-curricular interests.
- Graphic Novels, Comics and Manga

- Encourage independent learning and provide information literacy guidance
How students can get involved with the Library:
- All students are welcome to attend events such as World Book Day, author visits, Carnegie Shadowing, the Cheshire Schools’ Book Award and Book Club
- Avid readers may be selected to take part in the Cheshire School’s Book Quiz
- All students are invited to take part in stock selection to give them a sense of ownership over the Library and its resources
- Everyone can access the online cataloguing system to read, write and publish book reviews
- Students are invited each year to apply for Student Library Assistant positions
